Composers Concordance presents an exhilarating Halloween evening of music and artistry in New York City’s East Village venue, Pangea, on Tuesday, October 31st at 7pm. The event features three distinct bands, promising a high-energy experience along with delicious food and drinks.

The night commences with Gene Pritsker’s Sound Liberation, premiering their ‘Ghoulish Suite,’ specially composed for the event and inspired by poetry from Erik T. Johnson, Imelda O’Reilly, and Robert C. Ford. Accompanied by soprano Adriana Valdés, trumpeter Franz Hackl, bassist Jose Moura, and drummer David Cossin, the performance is further enhanced by recitations from poets Erik T. Johnson and Robert C. Ford. Special guest Lara St. John, a renowned violinist, joins for the premiere of ‘Bartok’s Transylvania.’

Next, poet and percussionist John Pietaro and electric bassist Laurie Towers take the stage, showcasing their decades-long collaboration, known for its innovative blend of poetry and punk-jazz. Finally, the evening concludes with the Dan Cooper Quartet, known for their virtuosic and eclectic compositions. The quartet, led by Dan Cooper on 6-string bass guitar, includes Evan Francis, Yayoi Ikawa, and Tommy Campbell, promising a captivating musical experience.
