Dheeya Somaiya, Lead, Art House – Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center, gives us a curated walk-through of their opening exhibits Sangam and India in Fashion. Come celebrate the works of contemporary artists influenced by India at this state-of-the-art centre that spotlights, preserves and promotes the myriad miens of art and culture by bringing to us the best of India and the world.

– Get a walkthrough of the India in Fashion exhibit and explore the layered impact that traditional Indian textiles and craft have had on international fashion since the 18th century. Curated by Hamish Bowles, Global Editor-at-large for Vogue and Editor-in-chief of The World of Interiors, the exhibition features designers like Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Elsa Schiaparelli, Mainbocher, Yves Saint Laurent, Ritu Kumar, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rahul Mishra, Abu Jani, Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna and Tarun Tahiliani.

– ‘Sangam/Confluence’ is co-curated by American curator Jeffrey Deitch and India’s leading cultural theorist Ranjit Hoskote and features the works of Bharti Kher, Bhupen Khakhar, Cecily Brown, Anselm Kiefer, among others. It marks the opening of the Art House and delves into how artist do not confirm themselves to a singular language, medium or style but rather a spectrum of possibilities.
